Palmerston restaurant – Canary Wharf London

Outside the West End, gastropubs are very often the best places to eat decent food at reasonable prices. Sometimes they can be a bit hit and miss, but that is certainly not the case at The Palmerston, where local residents can benefit from chef Jamie Younger’s experience at Bibendum. The dining area is very small, with extra seats in the pub section, but the food delivers huge flavours, good provenance, seasonality and excellent combinations of ingredients. The breadth of the menu also reflects Jamie’s experience and knowledge, including foie gras, aged beef, the finest cured meats, whole baked sea bass, and wild salmon served en papilotte.

Opinion – Foodsessed on Palmerston restaurant in Canary Wharf:

I had a delicious rabbit leg oozing with garlic and served with pancetta and an excellent mustard sauce. For a pub, this place is welcoming to families and kids, while also retaining its stout-loving old regulars.

Whether you want a quiet dinner with a loved one, a laugh with friends or to impress the in-laws, this gorgeous Dulwich gastropub is a reliable option, with Modern British fare that is superbly cooked. It has fantastic value to boot, other enticements include friendly staff, two fireplaces and works by local artists on the walls.
